Fire Forces 600 to Evacuate German Cruise Ship
A fire broke out on in the machine room of a German cruise ship at the Norwegian port of Eidfjord on Sunday. 600 people on board had to evacuate. The fire started on the "MS Deutschland" while it was docked at the port. The fire was soon brought under control. The passengers were taken to a nearby hotel. Most of the passengers were German, and will be flown back to Germany on Monday. Eidfjord was the last stop of the six-day cruise. The cruise had been scheduled to leave for Hamburg on Sunday evening and arrive Tuesday. The ship will later be taken to the Norwegian city of Bergen where specialists will investigate the cause of the fire.
